Ingredients

  • 2 cans 8 oz each crescent roll dough
  • 2 8 oz packages cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for topping
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Dish:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. This helps prevent the bars from sticking and ensures easy cleanup.

Make the Cheesecake Filling:

  • In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. This mixture should be lump-free for the smoothest texture.
  • An electric mixer can make this step quicker, but mixing by hand works well too.

Layer the Dough and Fill:

  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over this dough layer, smoothing it out with a spatula for an even layer.
  • Carefully unroll the second can of crescent dough and place it over the filling, again pressing the seams together gently.

Add the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • Be sure to coat it evenly to help the cinnamon sugar adhere.
  • Generously sprinkle this mixture over the buttered dough layer.

Bake and Cool:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and puffed.
  • Allow the bars to cool for at least 20 minutes. This step is essential for the filling to set, making it easier to cut and serve.
