- 2 cans 8 oz each crescent roll dough
- 2 8 oz packages cream cheese, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted
- ½ cup granulated sugar for topping
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Make the Cheesecake Filling:
In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. This mixture should be lump-free for the smoothest texture.
An electric mixer can make this step quicker, but mixing by hand works well too.
Layer the Dough and Fill:
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over this dough layer, smoothing it out with a spatula for an even layer.
Carefully unroll the second can of crescent dough and place it over the filling, again pressing the seams together gently.
Add the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
Bake and Cool:
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and puffed.
Allow the bars to cool for at least 20 minutes. This step is essential for the filling to set, making it easier to cut and serve.
