- - 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- - 2 cups brewed espresso cooled
- - 3 tablespoons coffee liqueur optional
- - 24-30 ladyfingers savoiardi
- - 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- - Dark chocolate shavings optional, for garnish
- Prepare the Mascarpone Filling:
- In a heatproof bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar over a double boiler until thick and pale (about 5 minutes).
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Whisk in mascarpone cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Whip the Cream:
- In a separate bowl, beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
- Soak the Ladyfingers:
- In a shallow dish, combine espresso and coffee liqueur (if using).
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the mixture, ensuring they absorb liquid but don’t become soggy.

- Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in a baking dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.

- Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
- Slice and enjoy!
