- Pat the whole chicken dry with paper towels.
- Rub olive oil all over the chicken.
- In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, thyme, and cayenne pepper.
- Season the chicken generously inside and out with the spice mixture.
- Stuff the chicken cavity with lemon halves and garlic cloves.
- Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
- Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 30 minutes, then flip the chicken breast-side up.
- Cook for another 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part.
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
