Ingredients
  

  • - 1 whole chicken 4-5 lbs
  • - 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • - 1 teaspoon salt
  • - 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • - 1 lemon halved
  • - 4 cloves garlic whole, optional

Instructions
 

  • - Pat the whole chicken dry with paper towels.
  • - Rub olive oil all over the chicken.
  • - In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, thyme, and cayenne pepper.
  • - Season the chicken generously inside and out with the spice mixture.
  • - Stuff the chicken cavity with lemon halves and garlic cloves.
  • - Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  • - Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
  • - Cook for 30 minutes, then flip the chicken breast-side up.
  • - Cook for another 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part.
  • - Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
